Job Description

The E&P Projects and Engineering Function (P&E) is focused on building and sustaining functional excellence that underpins the creation of distinctive projects and their world class execution. The function has developed an ambitious strategy ("Building the Future") to make BP the #1 Projects Operator by 2010. The strategy comprises five themes: People; Major Projects Common Process; Standardization, Projects Procurement & SCM and Engineering & Technology.

BP's Alaska Strategic Performance Unit (SPU) is a major component of the BP's existing group of businesses. Alaska is further distinguished by a very large, but technically challenging, resource base covering mature giant fields, satellite developments, large scale heavy oil potential, world-scale mid-stream assets, and a major long-term gas commercialization opportunity. The Alaska SPU resource base supports a 50 year future for BP in Alaska, and to deliver that we need to attract the best people.

The role of Procurement & Supply Chain Management (PSCM) is to ensure that maximum value is delivered from the $1.5 billion plus annual third party spend of the Alaska SPU, to assure supply and to manage key supply chain risks. Strong commercial and business acumen, communication, coaching and interpersonal skills are required.

This level of spend is expected to grow significantly through 2013 due to increased activity across all areas of the business, and especially Projects. New Alaska SPU projects include Heavy Oil, North Slope pipeline and facilities renewal program.

The Alaska SPU PSCM Team will be expanding to meet these dynamic business demands and has an immediate need for an experienced individual with a strong track record of performance delivery who is looking for an exceptional opportunity for career progression. The right candidate will join the team as a Senior PSCM Specialist.

Company Profile:

Our business is the exploration, production, refining, trading and distribution of energy. This is what we do, and we do it on a truly global scale. Every day, we serve millions of customers around the world. We are continually looking for talented, committed and ambitious people to help us shape the face of energy for the future.

BP&os;s Exploration and Production segment focuses on finding reserves of oil and gas, developing the means to extract and process it and then consistently producing and transporting it to market. This involves using cutting edge technology to find the energy reserves, the ability to drill thousands of meters under the ground, designing, building and operating some of the world&os;s largest most complex production onshore / offshore facilities and finally being able to transport these fluids, in order to provide energy to the world.

BP E&P Global Procurement & Supply Chain Management (PSCM) is responsible for working with Strategic Performance Units (SPUs) and other functional groups to maximize value delivered from expenditures with third parties. PSCM provides procurement and supply chain management for oil and natural gas exploration, development and production and related transportation and processing activities.
